. . . the author Frank Sambells

Welcome to “sourcingancestors” where I will be sharing information about the exciting experiences I have had while uncovering the history of the Sambells clan over the past 1000 years. From Australia and New Zealand to North America and Europe I have been poking and prying in records from all corners of the globe. I am a retired geography & environmental science high school teacher from Milton Ontario Canada, with a passion for researching my medieval origins and lineage. In 2016, I published the results of my findings in a book Sambells Family History: Origins and Lineage.

Follow my journey along pathways and paper trails as I discovered the footsteps of my ancestor’s successes and failures. Ramblings of my travels have taken me to England and France where I have visited churches, castles, manors, farms, and fields which were so familiar to my ancestors. The paper trail of my document Discoveries has revealed a continuous lineage of my ancestors since 980AD. A journal of my ramblings and narrative of my research discoveries are the two features of this genealogy blog. The blog posts will chronicle my journey of inquiry as I pursue my passion for revealing the unique stories of my ancestors.
